My soul danced in me the day we met…
For one whole month, Craig kept details of our fifth wedding anniversary getaway under wraps. I was forbidden from probing and pestering for any additional information apart from the place being nippy. He had me believe it was a road trip up sunny north until the morning he packed in his mohair scarf for an “island holiday”.
Snow does fall in July… if you’re a thousand metres above sea level, in Tasmania!
We clocked some fourteen hundred kilometres for three days and relished incredible pinch-me perfect landscapes. Craig says the most fun part though was witnessing one surprise after another unfold for me. From early in the morning when I opened the front door to find a taxi waiting to take us to the airport, to the special places in Tasmania he had chosen to take me to celebrate five roller-coaster-fun years together.
And still my favourite spot in the world… is in your arms.
[I have fallen for you too, Tasmania; July 2011]

Jem, was reading a blog that talked of people who are awake and concious in their living of a full and meaningful life. It made me think of you and Craig and I got to reading up on your latest news. Congrats on your five year anniversary – can’t believe it’s been five years already and you’re both still so much in love, it’s really heartwarming to read. Hope life is treating you well. It’s been a while. Life has a way of taking you on a such a busy, all-encompassing journey. Anyway, it’s late, I’m feeling rather philosophical and reminiscent of our friendship and wishing that I had kept in touch in a lot more. Please let me know ahead of time if you guys are planning on a visit back to Adelaide. Would love to catch up and see you in person. I really do miss the chats that we used to have (pre-marriage/kids!) Guess I just wanted to say that I’m missing you and thinking of you right now. Take care, my dear friend. Much love, Wendy. x
