You will grieve, but your grief will suddenly turn to joy.
We were in the middle of an incredibly long weekend. Welcome to Australia, the Land of the Long Weekends, where public holidays are worshiped whether you are religious or (a nut).

[Remember when we drove to the Gold Coast hinterlands this time and were stunned to discover this lush tropical rain forest? We were following the muddy track to Curtis Falls and happily taking snaps, until we could no longer ignore the ruckus made by a colony of fruit bats. Looking up the sky, we were certain the thick and dark clouds spelled rain. We trudge back on the mucky, sodden and uphill climb to the safety and shelter of the car, but she started to pour just as we approached the park entrance. Thank goodness you had ran to the car a few paces before me and I only suffered a minor head bump after being caught up in that terrifying but brilliant display of lightning, thunder and hail!
Later that evening, we sat on the beach sharing what was in our hearts...
... suddenly, without warning, we found ourselves in an emotional hailstorm. We could only offer each other frustrated dreams, unmet expectations, cold words and dampened spirits.
Do you remember that awful long drive back home, each of us lost in our maze of thoughts? While it did not take us long to kiss and make up, I am thankful that being committed to our marriage means, we can be honest about our struggles and consider each other, a lifetime partner in overcoming life's trials. Thank you for loving me. xo
